What is the correct file entry to exclude my games in snapshot?

#1

Post by CyberGhost » Mon Jul 22, 2019 10:21 pm

Hi I already tried using: /usr/share/games/ and saved it but when I tried to make a snapshot it gave me an error so that must not be the correct entry. So what is the correct one to exclude all my games? I still want to save all my personal settings though. I had been including all my games but it was too big of a file even after I deleted a lot of them. Any help is much appreciated!
MX 18.3 64 Bit

HP Notebook 17-x115dx
Intel Core i7-7500U (2.7 GHz, up to 3.5 GHz, 4 MB cache, 2 cores)
8 GB RAM DDR4-2133 SDRAM (2 x 4 GB)
Intel HD Graphics 620
Toshiba 1TB HDD

Using the existing exclusion file as an example we see that there's no slash at the beginning, so it would be usr/share/games not /usr/share/games.

Be sure to do a separate backup of that directory before reinstalling MX from your snapshot so you don't loose all of your games' scores and progress.

That didn't work by the way. It's still saving my games to the snapshot so it must be something else.

Try

Code: Select all

usr/share/games/*

Or try it with no slash at the end either:

Code: Select all

usr/share/games
(or is that what I said the first time?)
