Switch to another repo---the nz one is has problems at times. You can use the Repo Manager to do this easily.

Image new upload

One thing I installed nvidia with MX as you can see from the screenshot after booting and logging in login screen wallpaper stays on the screen with mouse cursor the desktop does not load no taskbar or anything else just the wallpaper.
If I alt ctrl f1 then without logging in just alt ctrl f7 and go back to the desktop every thing then loads then as normal ?

If I then logout after alt ctl f7 from the desktop and log back in the same thing happens as above. only the login wallpaper

After logging in

After ctrl alt f1 then ctrl alt f7

That link to your screenshot just goes to photobox.co.uk's home page. Can you try a different image host? I've had good luck with https://pixhost.to/ so far. It even preformats a line of bbcode for forums that displays a smaller thumbnail within a forum post with a link to the full-sized image. Just click on that line of bbcode and it will be copied to your clipboard, then just paste it here.

Also please run MX Tools/Quick System Info and paste the results here (inside code tags.)

I'm glad you have determined what you need for your work and use. It's sometimes a hard decision between what we like and what we need.

antiX is a great system. I use it on my netbook, although I keep both MX & antiX since I share the netbook with other users who prefer Xfce. MX is easier, for me, to maintain and support for them --due to habit and laziness.

I had the same problem and it was resolved after I deleted/renamed the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf, as dolphin_oracle suggested.
