going to drive 40 miles to download MX 18 then come back and do a R/R.
Then see if that helps me any.

Wish me luck!
Here now getting NEW copy of MX 18 this time.
Even here it takes 45 min to get it
Mx 17.1, dual boot with XP Media Center Edition 2005, core i5, 8gb ram, 2TB hybrid Seagate + other storage drives.

I need multisystem just like the one I can get for *buntu derivatives. Not the *.iso one. I am allergic to command line.

Which mint? was running 17.3 KDE and it did not decode them. That is why I came here.

Having problems right now with a MITM attack from the library I am at.

mine was SOLELY cause by firefox. Did not have it happen on Opera. Once I R/R the OS the problem went away nicely

I'm still a bit confused about VLC not playing h.265 for you--it plays the sample ones available on the web, as well as some I've made myself. Here's a very short one I encoded of a hungry coyote attacking you can download from Google Drive (hevc=h.265=created by libx265)

for some reason it wouldn't play them Got audio only.
Had to PPA the H265 for mint to get both video and audio on my lappy.

Mint dev's must be really busy and forgot to add it into the repo?
Here I suspect that thing should WORK without headaches.

At least my hardware doesn't have any issues :-)

OK guys, have to burn a DVD with MX 18.1 on it then R/R this thing tonight and get it DONE and working in 4 hours....

wish me luck!

OH and I kept getting do you want to keep or replace some funky thing or another when I updates MX 17.1.
I said no.

Not sure if 18 does that or not.

But if 18 looks ANYTHING like win 10 it is a GONER. 17.1 is as close as I can stand to being similar to win10.

dang thing kept stopping at 95% install.
Had to wipe a good flash drive and install the iso to that then install the system.

So far so good.
Got some of the software I need but have to get Opera installed which is not in the repo.
need some luck here...
