Password doesn't work on live usb

I am trying to install a RAID array and when I enter commands the password root doesn't work. Is there a different password for the terminal?
I am command line illiterate. :confused:

What command do you run? If you use "sudo" you need to use the user password not the root password, so you need to use "demo".
