I also have multiple boot, UEFI grub controlled by the current installation of MX. I chose to keep the existing configuration, but Synaptic appeared to go through the update grub routine anyway. I was bothered (my grub is customised) so I rebooted. I'm glad to say that my grub menu was unchanged.

AsRock FM2A88X-ITX+, A8-6500, 8GB, 120GB Samsung SSD (GPT), 1TB HDD (MBR), MX-18.3
Lenovo Thinkpad X220, dual-core i5, 3MB, 320GB Hitachi HDD, Win7, MX-18.3

I received the updates on two systems myself (and a third running plain stretch), all MBR, all without issues...

I didn't get any sort of grub install in today's update? on the T430.

Interestingly, there is no history in synaptic of today's upgrade?
Is the history of "apt-get full-upgrade" stored elsewhere?

Is there a history of update/upgrade from MX-Package Installer?

rightclick our updater icon and use the History there. It captures everything (synaptic only captures what synaptic installs).

No.
There is no UEFI here, there is only MBR here.

On two machines the Grub update was successful. On both MX installations, the pit is located in the /

Far out!
Another good reason to re-read the fine manual. :)

If you have the newer GRUB from the test repo installed, you won't see the Debian Stretch version as an update. Just a possibility.
