Think I've broken packages messing with claws plugins - Solved

#1 Post by KernSpy » Sun Nov 04, 2018 4:00 pm

I was messing with claws and plugins (stable) via mxpi. I've managed to break something, because I forgot that claws mail is newer version. Newer then the plugins I was trying to install. I tried to fix what is supposed to be broken, but nothing is coming up. Tried ..

Code: Select all

 dpkg --configure -a
and

Code: Select all

 apt-get -f install
maybe should try

Code: Select all

 sudo apt-get autoclean $$ apt-get clear cache
Then ..

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
.

Here is the results from terminal: No output from first command. Output from second: $ sudo apt-get -f install
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

I can still install packages, the issue just seems to be with those plugins.

I don't remember how many I attempted to install ... Maybe 5 or 6. :bagoverhead:

Hi,
Maybe you can try to install the version 3.17.1.1 from the MX17 test repository, pretty stable here and much better. from:
mx-packageinstaller
$ inxi -Fxxxz : System: Host:XEON ... Distro: MX-17.1_x64 Horizon

It's probably also better to remove claws-mail and all the plugins first, so you can start from a clean slate.

Thanks guys! Yes, will clean up and start new. Be back ...

Edit: Uninstalled Claws Mail - Reinstalled latest from test-repo and installed plugins. Fixed!
