DNSMASQ Pihole issue

#1 Post by antiK » Mon Jul 09, 2018 7:16 pm

Hi. I'm having problems blocking advertising with Pihole. I have been told by the moderators of the Pi hole forum that I have to: " You could also try to disable the local dnsmasq so that it does not resolve via 127.0.0.1."

How do I do that?

cat /etc/resolv.conf
# Dynamic resolv.conf(5) file for glibc resolver(3) generated by resolvconf(8)
# DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE BY HAND -- YOUR CHANGES WILL BE OVERWRITTEN
nameserver 127.0.0.1

Wouldn't it be easier to install Ublock Origin or another adblocker in your browser's add-ons? Or are you trying to adapt pihole for a reason?

why do you have dnsmasq installed? is it part of PiHole? dnsmasq is not installed in MX.

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.
