mx had firmware-realtek already installed, ie. had rtl8723de driver included (my eyesight is bad, mistook 'de' for 'be').
maybe u r rite, stick to the distro tat works for u. ;)
have u try AUSTRUMI? :happy:

I found this solution on the Linux Mint forums after doing a search on your laptop model. It involves making a change to the 'ant' line in the rtl8723be driver:

I hope you get this solved.

Its frustrating, I had the same problem when I installed MX. Because my /home partition (separate from system partition) has been used by other distros. If you have not tried yet, does wifi work with MX live CD or in a new user setting? If it does, the problem is in your user network manager setting.

There are a lot of reports re both the older chip using rtl8723be and the newer using rtl8723de.
Most of issues seemed to have been solved selecting the 2nd wired antenna of used chip
through "options rtl8723de ant_sel=2" in /etc/modprobe.d/rtl8723de.conf.

Having the "right" driver and firmware doesn't guarantee it will work. I had a particularly uncooperative rtl8192eu chip that would only work with one specific modified driver from Github. Even then it wasn't reliable.
