Multi screen Primary display don't work

#1 Post by Fox773 » Fri Jun 22, 2018 12:30 pm

Hello (sorry if my english is bad),

I use tree monitors with my computer, all of them work but when I try to change the primary display it doesn't work, only the left screen can be the primary display.

Do you have and idea to how to fix it ?

Thanks.

Thanks,
I've just replaced your system output between </> -tags :

,
to make it better readable.

Seems to be related to an old bug in xfce handling multiple attached monitor and how the primary monitor is defined. Make it possible to set the primary display in a multimonitor setup
You'll find explanation and workarounds here:
xfce4-display-settings: why is there no “Extend to the left”?

and here: Xfce - Can't set primary monitor in xrandr

We have a new xfce4-settings package in our test repo that supposedly has some fixes for issues with multi monitors.

lenovo ThinkPad T530 - MX-17
lenovo s21e & 100s - antiX-17, MX17(live-usb)
FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

I ran into a similar problem on an old Windows machine which had no problem running two displays. But after installing Linux, only one display would work. Either the primary, or the secondary, but not both at once. No problem with Windows though, just one of those things. The price one pays for having old computers. ;)
