Issues where Wifi loses internet but not connection

#1 Post by cmscritic » Tue Jun 12, 2018 10:20 am

I'm having frustrating issues where my laptop for some reason loses internet connectivity but stays connected to the wifi. If I leave the laptop for an extended period (or sometimes in the middle of working) the connection will stop working and I have to switch to another wifi network and then back in order to get it functional again.

Things I've tried include adding DNS servers from dns.watch to my connection and rebooting but nothing seems to work. Power savings says it is off as well so I can't see that being the issue.

Thoughts on how I can troubleshoot?

Does your modem/router have a power saving mode?

Which WiFi channels are used on MX Linux?
If radar is detected most channels in use are blocked for 10-30 minutes by DFS regulation.
