zsync error

#1 Post by tstechy » Tue May 29, 2018 4:12 am

Hello,

I am trying to download the latest snapshot using zsync as follows:

Code: Select all

zsync -i MX-17.1_x64.iso http://mxrepo.com/snapshots/MX-17.1_May_x64.iso.zsync
I keep getting the following error:

Code: Select all

##########---------- 52.9%bad status code 406
##########---------- 52.9% 0.0 kBps aborted

failed to retrieve from MX-17.1_May_x64.iso
Any ideas? Thanks

I think zsync is not supported by that particular repo, try:

Code: Select all

 zsync -i MX-17.1_x64.iso http://iso.mxrepo.com/Snapshots/MX-17.1_May_x64.iso.zsync

The mxrepo-server has a limited bandwidth. Not sure whether this is the reason.
We have a lot have other mirrors which certainly might work better withe zsync.
A small list have mirrors you'll find here:
https://mxlinux.org/download-links
a full list of ISO-mirros is shown here:
https://mxlinux.org/wiki/rsync-server/iso-mirrors
You have to go in to the upper diretories to find the snapshot directory.

In addion the ISO's can also be download through zsync from sourceforge.
I've put an example code to download via zsync from sourceforge
based on simlare posts within this forum here recently:
