Remote Login

#1 Postby Be OK » Wed Jan 10, 2018 10:07 am

Hi, i have a machine with a troubled drive so i boot using the dvd as live session, works great.
Now i want to use my main computer (mx17) to login on the live machine.
What is the best way to do this ?
And is there a way to adapt the live dvd or usb to do that at every boot, like a repair dvd ?

In answer to your first question, I can recommend Remmina, which is in the MX-16 / 17 repo. Easy to set up and use.

I'll defer on your 2nd question to folks who use persistence USB tools.

Ok remmina is in mx16 not in the mx17 repo had to use the backport repo.
That give a additional question how to get this on dvd-usb to run at live use.
Or some documents to read on this.

Pff looks like you need to set up ssh to :( And that for on a local network.

I don't use ssh on either my MX 16 or MX 17 box and connect easily my home network using Remmina. I think there were Remmina plugins that I needed to install to use Remmina the way I needed it.
