Cannot Print from MX Linux as Guest OS on Virtualbox

#1 Post by chiguy1256 » Tue Dec 26, 2017 10:05 pm

I have a Windows 10 host and have MX Linux installed as a guest OS Virtualbox and I am not able to print. Every time I try, it says that the printer is in use. Please advise. Thanks.

Do you have it set up in Window like the second answer here?

https://unix.stackexchange.com/question ... ndows-host

One workaround might be to print to a PDF file in Linux, then print the PDF in Windows.

I shared my Windows printer and then tried to add the printer in MX Linux and got the error below.

CUPS server error.
There was an error during the CUPS operation: 'client-error-not-possible'.

Please advise. Thanks.

I was able to get HPLIP installed and found my printer and all is well now. Thanks.
