dist-upgrade LO 5.4 or wait for LO 6?

#1 Post by TJ Hoye » Thu Feb 22, 2018 11:16 am

The latest dist-upgrade for MX-17 has a healthy bunch of upgrades for LO 5.4.
Shouldn't LO 6 be coming along shortly?

Hello, DO.
Earlier dist-upgrade offer disappeared while I was trying to figure how to copy it.
I would like to have LO 6.0, but did not know how to get it.
Just noticed LO 6 now in my Synaptic.
Thanks

The tzdata bug appears running from Livemedia when a timezone hasn't been selected. It's not too hard to fix. See here:

Not authorized to read that.
My LO 6 seems to work ok with tzdata it has, at least for now.

Sorry, didn't realize that was in a dev-only forum. Here's the info:
dolphin_oracle wrote:Apparently the the setup of tzdata doesn't like our default live /etc/timezone and /etc/localtime settings (these are modified post install during the build-iso process).

rebooting with a timezone actually explicitly selected and then doing the update appears to work.

if you have already started an update of tzdata, the you need to

Code: Select all

rm /var/lib/dpkg/info/tzdata.postinst
dpkg --configure -a
apt-get install --reinstall tzdata
and you should get a successful update.
