MX-18 Users Manual: Review (S1)

#1 Post by Jerry3904 »

Now that things have settled down a bit, it is time to bring the Users Manual up to MX-18. Prior to release, Gordon and I replaced many of the most important images for Sections 1-3 and updated the text in some areas. Now we have time to do a thorough and careful job.

We will take one Section per week, starting with Section 1 (S1) this week. First step for anyone interested in being involved is to download the current version from the GitHub website:

https://github.com/MX-Linux/mxum

Click on the S1 link in the left column, which brings up this page:
GH_S1.png
Click on the Download button to retrieve the text.

We run a link checker, so don't bother with that (though suggestions for substitutions are always welcome). Post back in this thread:
  • Corrections
  • Deletions
  • Additions (the hardest category)
  • Formatting
  • Other useful items
It is important to understand that the Manual is designed to remain at a general level, and use the Wiki for detailed discussions.

Deadline: end of this coming weekend. Next Monday I will post a new thread for Section 2.

Thanks in advance!

I will take a look but I'm not qualified to correct the original version, but I will be glad to modify the fr version when it is finished.
Good luck ;)

@Tim: thanks. I also have doubts about the "recommended" values, which seem pretty low to me.

MX-18 runs very well on 2GB ram. 10GB disk space is pretty limiting though. Even in limited use VMs I make 20GB drives.
