Re: MX Documentation

Very trivial, but all I could find was at the beginning, it says RC this link > Saved Linked Content As ..., but Mozilla-based browsers say Save Link as...

Otherwise, it looks great.

Chris

Edit: I realised you were just asking for a review of the documentation, but decided to try the process also. Is there any reason why the file to download cannot already be named greeter.ui? I know the documentation tells you what to do, but I'm interested to know.

Otherwise, it works 100%, and has tempted me to poke around in the file to see what I can break!

Good and quick work.
I use it even on my Netbooks.
Since if I have to run Windows,
sometimes I forget to select it.

It could probably be named greeter.ui, but I think
they wanted to provide an easy way to roll it back.

Looks great now Jerry.

As with Mepis, the docs are a terrific asset to MX, and something we need to promote to potential users.

Looking forward to the point release this weekend, I have edited the QuickStart document, deleting some material as too detailed, adding a couple of important things. After the release I am going to work on getting this document at least translated, though the details have not been worked out yet, so this review will also serve to stabilize the text for that effort.

See anything new that should be in the first document a new user sees (and hopefully reads)?

Deadline: 24 hours (12 EST tomorrow). TIA!

On the Localization page, in the Installation section, the GRUB link is broken. Likewise, on the MX Applications page, MX Boot repair section, the GRUB link is broken.

On the Network page, in the File sharing section, the mtp link is broken.

Right, I deleted that GRUB page, thanks.

QuickStart itself looks OK, content-wise?

Yes, I think the balance between not giving sufficient information, and scaring off newcomers, is just right.

Now we just need to encourage users to use it!
