windows, compiz [resolved]

For issues with MX that has been modified from the initial install. Example: adding packages that then cause issues.

windows, compiz [resolved]

#1 Post by Lugue »

Hello, I have as expected Linux MX.

I do not know if it is a bad configuration or some error, the problem is that I can not change the appearance of windows, when I go to the system configuration and select window manager because it does not work, it does not open. But when I disable the compiz (I have it installed) then there if the window manager is opened. Alguiien can tell me what happens?

THE BEST EVEN!
Someone can tell me how I can change the style of the windows having the compiz active, I would really like it, I hope they help me, thank you.

That is normal. Compiz/Emerald takes over window management.

1. since you installed compiz, which is a window manager, you must use the compiz settings manager to make changes. the xfce window manager tool only works with the Xfce window manager (xfwm4)

2. the gtk themer (default) assumes mate/gnome type desktops to pull theme information. you need to use the Emerald Theme Manager and Emerald Themes to change the appearance.

I just did a video on this. viewtopic.php?p=416319#p416319 https://youtu.be/gwnfhtrJueI

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.
