re-edit: it works now !

REISUB works as emergency shutdown in MX. However, some other SysReq features don't give output. Like on vt1,
Print a summary of available magic SysRq keys = SPACE
does not show a summary. Can it be done in Debian / MX ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_SysRq_key
Alt-SysRq REISUB (busier) works in updated MX-15 :-)

Re: Alt-SysRq REISUB (busier) works
in a console (antiX16), Alt+SysRq+Space does display the available commands.
Re: Alt-SysRq REISUB (busier) works
I was not able to verify this here. shows nothing in xterm or vt1. installed & ran sysrq daemon even.skidoo wrote:in a console (antiX16), Alt+SysRq+Space does display the available commands.
Re: Alt-SysRq REISUB (busier) works
Doesn't work in MEPIS Linux 12.0 Konsole either. Just turns the cursor from a black rectangle to a hollow black rectangle.
Alt-SysRq REISUB (busier) works BY NOW !!
funnily enough ... my updated MX-15 now actually outputs Alt-SysRq text to the regular FD , that is, one can read it !
what a pretty little feature of MX the MAGNIFICENT distro again ! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Re: Alt-SysRq REISUB (busier) works
not "Konsole" nor other "terminal emulator app".eemaestro wrote:Doesn't work in MEPIS Linux 12.0 Konsole either.
I was referring to to linux TTY console (reached from desktop session via Ctrl+Alt+F1 thru F6 keybinds).

Okay, it worked in the MEPIS Linux 12 tty console. Gave four lines of text.
