Downloaded: MEGA Sync-Tool for Debian 8. Not sure it will..

For issues with MX that has been modified from the initial install. Example: adding packages that then cause issues.

Downloaded: MEGA Sync-Tool for Debian 8. Not sure it will..

#1 Post by KernSpy »

Hi all,

I Downloaded - MEGA Sync-Tool for Debian 8. Not sure it will install and work properly on MX15?

Clicking on the deb file (megasync-Debian_8.0_amd64.deb) I get a report about other packages
and a message window. "To install the following changes are required: To be installed: libc-ares2.
To be installed: libcrypto++9."

Details: "Easy automated syncing between your computers and your MEGA cloud drive
Secure: Your data is encrypted end to end. Nobody can intercept it while in storage or in transit. Flexible: Sync any folder from your PC to any folder in the cloud. Sync any number of folders in parallel. Fast: Take advantage of MEGA's high-powered infrastructure and multi-connection transfers. Generous: Store up to 50 GB for free!"

Think I'll try and install it by - sudo gdebi megasync-Debian_8.0_amd64.deb

Unless - Someone thinks I should try / do something else first?

Thanks!

Kern...

Yes, gdebi worked as designed and wants to install missing dependencies, so it's letting you know. That's a good thing, not something to be worrying about.

I did test the MEGA sync app and it worked as advertised on MX 15.

Downloaded the deb, installed and let it do its thing. Then an update appeared in synaptic, so did that, and done.

Works like a charm on my system as well :smile:
