Sometimes I would have liked to be able to highlight some parts in a forum post, but I didn't know how to do so from within code tags.

Within lengthy howto write-ups, occasional color(s) can be super helpful.
On the flip side, bear in mind that over 30% of adult human males are affected by some degree of colorblindness.
My favorite use of color is toward conveying a sense of whispering
Just noticed that we've gained ability to apply strikethrough markup.
it's them animagimitated smilies and avatard gifs what oughta go. Mama sez theys the devil.

The judicious use of color can be useful, but a user can go overboard and I have seen it on other forums. Animated smileys and avatars can not only be annoying but they consume cpu. Not so much on my current machine, but on an older one I noticed a marked increase in cpu usage. Common sense should be used in both cases in my opinion.

translated by ggogleComme on dit chez nous, "en Belgique" et je pense aussi dans d'autres pays, une expression qui dit "les goûts et les couleurs" ....
As we say at home, "in Belgium" and I think also in other countries too, an expression that says "the tastes and colors"....
-)For me, between the two output of the image, I have easier to read with colors ....
-) This answer sums up my question very well
-) yes, for me too, the goal is no to tuning the messages, but to facilitate log reading ...richb wrote: ↑Fri Jun 22, 2018 6:50 am The judicious use of color can be useful, but a user can go overboard and I have seen it on other forums.
