Email notifications from forum

#1 Post by asqwerth »

I've noticed at times (it's not consistent) the email notification that there are new posts in a subscribed thread will still provide an http link rather than a https link.

This is despite the forum being https now and if you click on this link you of course have to re-login because you were originally logged in with https.

Like I said, it's not consistent behaviour. This is the latest notification I got:

And this is from maybe 18 hours ago [Note: the links in the quote below don't display the https part of the URL address but they do appear in my email. If you mouseover the links, they are definitely https]:

I will investigate. We have had random http links in some older posts that I have corrected when discovered, but these are newer posts you referenced. May take some sleuthing,

I just subscribed to this topic, Can you , or anyone else, add a new post so I can see how it shows up in my email

I also subscribed to the MX 17 Alpha topic and see how they show in my email.

That may have occurred with my first posts on the alpha, since it took me some time to correct to https. It seems likely to me that if a user logs into http and posts from there, that then that is what is sent in the email notification.

Could very well be. We have secure cookies enabled for SSL. If logged in without SSL redirects will error.
Your post came through to my email properly with https:// links.

There is a reference to cookie settings in the ACP and http://, htpps:// which can be set. It now is not and the default is used.
