loco wrote:hi guys,

does anybody else notice high cpu increases while posting here? i was going to reply to one of Jerry's threads last night and recommend ice weasel 4.0 beta 12 (32bit sid partition) when i noticed it but not in time to avoid a freeze/lockup.

thanks ;-)

typing from lxde 64bit M11 libreoffice due to same problem this morning with ff :smiley2:.

I have not. Qualification. When I tried FF 4 betas I did have high CPU usage in general. FF 3 series and Google chrome do not exhibit high cpu in my case.
EDIT: Correction. I was wrong about this. Rechecking I do see 50% CPU load with other browsers, but no lockup. DBeckett pointed out that it is most likely the animated smileys that is causing the load.

My CPU pins at 100% when I use Post Reply, but not using Quick Reply. Is that what you mean? Firefox 4 Beta 10 on Mepis 11 Beta 2. It stays pinned until I Submit.
