I posted the screen shots but they are waiting for moderator approval.

***UPDATE: I noticed that the Search function has just shown up, along with several other items. It must have been because I hadn't reached 5 posts until now. Sorry about causing confusion! :hitmyhead:

That's alright. I for one wouldn't have thought of that.
Yes, even I am dishonest. Not in many ways, but in some. Forty-one, I think it is.

Can I assume you got the email about the secret handshake too?

Yes, and I'm working on it. Btw, what's in it for me? :toast:

Seriously though, I think persons new to Mepis and the forum would be the ones most likely to use the search function. At least they should before they go running around posting.

Good point. I will see if I can find the setting for that.

One reason to keep it as is would have to do with spammers who register only to cause mayhem. Giving them the search function can give access to information and they could tie the board up with lengthy time consuming searches. The five post requirement while not fool proof, is somewhat of a wall against that, as many do not bother to post but are fishing.

the admin of forum will grasp it.

When I was going to register an account with this forum, I was made to confine by a question.
Difficult contents are included in the item of the question by an area.
(example: snake. There are other animals thought about  )

Is it not possible for contents understanding a person watching question contents with a thing like a little more MEPIS and MX?
For example, the most recent version will be good.

The spambots are very smart now. They can solve most of the simple questions and have a database of answers for about 80 000 forums. When we had the kind of questions you suggest, we got lots of spam registrations.
The questions are meant to be different in structure from what are used at other forums. You have to look at a symbol and associate to something else. The spambots can't do that yet.
