Re: kvm installation issues

Can you give it a try from console (using 2000MB, you can change depending how much memory you want to give it):

Code: Select all

kvm -m 2000 -cdrom MX-18_January_x64.iso
(not sure are virt-manager configurations, better to isolate things to see where the issue is)

Re: kvm installation issues

Your ISOs are probably fine something else happens here. So what do you see when you log in "demo" user (EDIT: ah, you just posted the screenshot, good)? What's the clock, does it show the correct time?

Re: kvm installation issues

That three times is a charm is strange, you also should not get a login screen on Live environment it should log in automatically.
How do you actually run kvm, can you post the string here?

Re: Run Windows as a live system

I think there's a lack of interest at Microsoft because they consider that every PC should run Windows, what would be the point to carry with you a portable Windows? Also, the hardware detection while improved in Windows 10 is still lacking in my opinion and it would be hard to switch from one PC to...

Re: New user's generic questions

It's no more systemd-free than a vanilla Debian with sysvinit. What's the problem with a vanilla Debian with sysvinit? And by the way MX is not systemd free, it has systemd and provide a choice to use to use it or not, by default it boots with sysvinit. Is MX with some desktop choices a possibility...

Re: SparkleShare, a Git-based Dropbox Replacement

Haven't try it but it sounds a bit strange using git for such purpose. I actually moved away from Dropbox and how I use Syncthing, syncing everything to one Raspberry Pi that runs all the time, this way I have my own "cloud". It has some advantages and disadvantages...

Re: Problem with ethical values on Linux tracker

We could post the direct links but the issue is should we continue to use them? We have over 100 mirrors now... we can use archive.org, why associate ourselves with such a host if they misbehave, maybe we can even publicly dissociate from them and denounce their behavior if this is what they do (aga...

Yeah, there's an entire database of passwords and emails associated with them, you'll see that more and more, just make sure you don't reuse passwords on multiple sites.

Re: Kudos MX18 Jan. 2019 snapshot

What graphic card do you have? Have you installed the Nvidia driver (in case you use Nvidia)? Maybe you are using the wrong driver.

Re: I've noticed that the MX forum is as busy as the Manjaro forum

Busy forums are NOT a good thing. Ubuntu, Mint, whatever, there are no quick answers to new questions. Youse folks here (us'n's?) are still a small community giving every one decent attention. Once that's lost, so is the heart and soul. I've noticed that some questions get overlooked, hope people a...
