Re: Package Installer has Alpha version of Audacity [Solved]

Another feature of Liquorix kernels is full preemption which is helpful for audio. The default Bullseye kernel is not capable, and I don't remember when it was introduced, but more recent kernels are configured with dynamic preemption so it's possible to enable it in Debian kernels and bring them cl...

Stevo wrote: Thu Jul 06, 2023 9:54 am Do you think a lower latency kernel such as Liquorix could make any difference on older machines?
Definite maybe. Liquorix defaults to performance CPU governor so that could help (unless MX changes that?).

Re: Looking for media player with specific features

If you need something that works like Kodi, why not just install Kodi? ;)

Re: Package Installer has Alpha version of Audacity [Solved]

Not sure if I can solve this issue for you, but I have been recording dozens of vinyl records using the MX Audacity v3.3.3 in Debian Bullseye and have not experienced any instances where the recording stops. I use an Audio-Technica LP5 turntable via its USB output. System is i5 6500 with 16GB RAM an...

Re: Too bad about debian...

Debian with KDE Plasma looks rather elegant to me:

Re: Too bad about debian...

I use Debian with KDE Plasma and love it. I can understand dislike for the default Gnome desktop though, it doesn't appeal to me at all. Prefer to start minimal and build it up. MX is a fine distro too and the devs have done a wonderful job with all the tools and stuff. Nice for new users if you don...

Re: AVL-MXE: Repository? Carla?

@Duliwi what distro are you actually using? You mentioned MX-19 earlier which would have older libc6 2.28 and cause the error shown in your image.
If you want to use AVL-MXE packages, you should use AVL-MXE.

Re: AVL-MXE: Repository? Carla?

Please allow me another question: It looks like I can not load the external Plugin "GForm64": https://www.gvst.co.uk/Get/PlugG4/GFormWin64.zip?dlcode=34DG9R @sunrat any idea? Not really. I generally avoid Windows plugins and don't have Carla set up to do that atm. I did get it working by ...
