Re: How to stop MX USB Unmounter from auto-starting?
Thanks for your reply @dolphin_oracle, I just realised that my question has an ambiguous meaning.
I don't want to run MX USB Unmounter on my computer. So I'm looking for a way to stop it from starting up at boot?

How to stop MX USB Unmounter from auto-starting?
I've put the latest MX on my Lenovo. I've modified it of course... (I should mention that I think MX is great as it arrives on the HDD. I just have some old habits when it comes to the way I like to interface with my computer hardware, so I have to suffer through the days of configuration...) Someth...

@Arnox , thanks for your reply.
Its OK. I've got the photos backed up in multiple locations & most of the other stuff. Though I was < 6 months behind in my backups. When I get around to it I'll clone the partition with the lost data before working on trying to salvage it.

Re: deleting Topics means deleting know-how
I've used Zim as well. These days I just have a directory of text files with a few sub-directories. Speaking of aging brains... lol I've recently installed the Arch based EndeavourOS on my Clevo. Spent a couple of days setting it up how I like. Did a system update with pacman/yay & then of cours...

Re: deleting Topics means deleting know-how
I much prefer the "classic" style of forum software, like that being used by MX, as I find it much more useful when it comes to finding useful reference material. The likes of Discourse seem to me to be built for people that do all of the internet surfing from a CEL phone. I really don't l...

I know! Unbelievable. I was wondering if the god's were trying to subtly give me a hint?

How to auto-boot into X without a GDM, or CLI login & startx
Using what follows I can boot into Openbox automatically without the need of a GDM or having to enter my username & password & then typing startx . Which in my humble opinion, is as good as it gets in this regard if you have a single user machine that is in a secure location. I use do use a ...

Re: GParted said use chkdsk /f on my data drive in Windows
I still haven't gotten around to attempting to recover my files (using older backup stuff currently). The main reason is that a day or so later I lost my (unsupported) MX partition (different drive altogether - internal). What a pain. I've been shying away from a rebuild for many months now. Anyway,...

Alt + Right Click - I didn't know that, it works great on Openbox.
