There is no safe menu on boot of dvd I will try and download again with a check of the download.Thanks John

I had to install from mx repos after upgrading 14.3.No problems after upgrade and reinstall of grub.Thanks john

You can uninstall and install different kernels using ukuu.The grub is updated with each kernel change.You can also enable blocking kernels like new rc releases using ukuu settings and only install mainline kernels and new released kernels.
