Re: What are your favorite sports to watch - and why

Watch less and less as time goes on. As a teenager, very much a sports fan, live and die with the local teams, played all sports. Now not so much. Occasionally attend local uni football, semi-pro baseball, junior hockey. Like to orienteer, but do it badly. Do more listening on the radio than watch o...

Re: Request for translations thread

In string 8: The disks are later in the same sentence called "it". Henry I saw that, but let it pass. Although several disks may be tested, perhaps only one failed. It would probably require some convoluted wording to account for that. Still, strictly speaking they should agree in number....

Re: Request for translations thread

Is string "% Installer" -> MX Linux Installer ? (I suppose it is and that's the window's title of Installer as well). The gazelle installer is generalized so that it can be used by more than one distro. So, yes, for us that will reduce to "MX Linux Installer". The same idea is u...

Re: Request for translations thread

The previous description was "Java 8- installs openjdk-8 and icedtea". So the hyphen isn't exactly in the right place. Maybe it would have been better written as "Java 8 - installs openjdk-8" or even better "Java 8: installs openjdk-8". I guess we will leave it as is fo...

Re: Looking for new MX translation co-ordinator

Hello Friedrich. Yes, I guess that is a bit vague. I mean knowing the normal Linux commands like cd, mkdir, cat, cp, ls, and so on. There are quite a few scripts to execute as well. A basic familiarity with git is helpful, but that can be learned. This specific article shows the type of commands bei...

Looking for new MX translation co-ordinator

Would you like to join the MX team as the new translation co-ordinator? If you have some time to devote to your favorite operating system, have an interest in languages and the written word, are comfortable with the command line, and want to be part of a dedicated group of volunteers, then maybe thi...
