u have disabled ntp, did u set hw clock to utc or local time? if not, set it to local time.

imo, always go with the latest stable kernel 4.17.18 (self compiled).
pro - fix faults, improve codes/securities.
con - new fix, come with new error, cycle continue endlessly.

there r a lot of beta/rc in mx17.1, won't it will be better if update those?
eg. grub2 in beta? rather use a stable version than latest beta or a release version over a beta version.
