Re: Monthly snapshot announcement

I see the same thing in 32bit, I will remove it from the repo.
I don't understand something, that's just 32bit May snapshot with the latest updates, would people who run regular 32bit see the same issue after they upgraded, why is that a problem only with the ISO?

Re: Yet another new inxi feature: disk speeds!

Oh, I forgot to mention, the reported speeds are somewhat inconsistent, most cases appear to report the theoretical fastest speed the system board will handle, so if you have a sata 2 board with a sata 3 drive, it usually, but not always, shows as the sata 2 speed. To make matters more amusing, som...

Thanks! I got this, seems to be working, it's interesting that my SSD seems to be doing 3.0 Gb/s although it's a SATA III device... not sure why. Re: the MEPIS-type installer: was it Mr. Woodford's creation?

Warren created the installer, the logic and most of the code comes from it, but we did modify it heavily at some points. The need to modify the installer made me learn Qt, initially the goal was limited, like remove the "I agree" on the license screen, then we started to add options and capabilities...

Re: Monthly snapshot announcement

Thanks, as always, for doing this. I tracked the April snapshot, and over 1,300 people have downloaded it. It's really easy, it doesn't take a lot of time to create snapshots, I'm glad people find them useful (BTW, SourceForge numbers are only partial since these snapshots are copied to most of the...

Re: Monthly snapshot announcement

Snapshots for May are up. Nothing special, about 30 packages were updated, among them a Firefox update 59->60, and an installer bugfix for installing MX Linux on ESP.

Re: Malware found in Ubuntu Store Snap app

I don't think it's a snap technology issue, it's a issue of vetting, same thing could have happened if they allowed unvetted .debs uploaded to the repo.

Re: Installation issues and concerns

We need the process that starts (GParted) to block input to the installer because we need for the process to finish before we continue to do stuff in the installer. Probably the best choice in this case would be to completely hide the installer and display it again when you close GParted. your libc...
