Please post the contents of /etc/default/grub.
Also, is it safe to assume that you ran update-grub after you made those changes?

Are you using Xfce's setting to disable the touchpad while typing? There is also touchpad indicator that Stevo recently packaged and is now available in the main repo.

I used the control center - network - ceni to get network

I will try and get it built tonight unless someone else has, but I haven't seen anyone mention it yet.
