It's probably an environment issue, it doesn't get the $TERM info when launching from the menu.

Good points, the version of the program is highly relevant, that's why I added easy way to get the version in every program I touch.

What I would do: compile a list of things that people complained about, eliminate trolling and stupid commends and then go down the list and try to fix what can be fixed then post a test, "Beta" or "RC" and let people bang on it for a bit before you release.

Some settings you can change at boot time, before you boot should should have depending if you boot UEFI or legacy BIOS options to save settings:
- UEFI -> Advanced Options -> Save options:
- BIOS -> One of F keys, not sure
