Re: Need a Windows VM to start at boot time, how? Cockpit? VirtualBox?
I installed qt5ct, and tried to run it on the command line, but then I got the error message, in a GUI dialog, saying: "The QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME environment variable is not set correctly" Then I ran: export QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qt5ct ...and then I could sucessfully launch it. But whatever ...

Re: Need a Windows VM to start at boot time, how? Cockpit? VirtualBox?
OK, I installed VirtualBox 6 from the testing repo. This pulled in the virtualbox-qt package. Now my Virtualbox looks like garbage, as the font has become really small. Also, there is a very light font on a light background. Is there a package I can install to adjust the qt-specific desktop widget s...

Re: MX Linux is very good; it took some time, but now I'm settled in and happy
Although I'm technically a "newbie" (using MX since January/February 2019), my technical experience makes me a lot more tolerant to technical difficulties than a typical newbie, which is something experienced users often take for granted. Thanks for saying that. I agree it's not fair to p...

What's your favorite keyboard shortcut, that works by default in MX Linux (XFCE)?
The window borders are really thin by default, like 1 pixel thin. So manually resizing windows can be annoying (by drag-n'-dropping an edge or corner of the window). If the window is not maximized, then a nice keyboard shortcut to automatically grab the lower right corner for resizing is Alt+F8 . Th...

Re: MX Linux is very good; it took some time, but now I'm settled in and happy
I'm not convinced any Linux distro will be newbie friendly. Well, from my own experience, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and Elementary OS were about as newbie-friendly as it gets. So many distros are competing fiercely these days to be as user-friendly as possible, that it's hard to even make a concise list....
