it's not always an bad thing, though,
as some extra files are needed to be added into the mix.

with that many Bad Sectors -- you shouldn't be trying to Isolate them.

rather, you should be backing-up your Data,
- in preparation for buying an New Drive -
that many Bad Sectors isn't an Good Thing.

you should be able to just, point the MX Installer to the chrome partition, and then let the MX Installer format that partition & write it's own files to that partition. afterwards, at the end of the installation process, the MX Installer should then write it's own Boot Loader & Boot Files, ...

this is Not any general Use type Linux System, as it's more for their Internal useage, than it is for your Desktop PCs. like Google, they both do utilise an Linux System, for some Internal activities. if you wish, to, you can indeed grab an copy & play around with it. - it most likely won't find...

it's still an big unknown,
and even if the naysayers are right, then Four Years is an long time in coming.

most Linux folks will be running another hardware system, for some Newer Linux System.
- possibly even an recycled win-10 machine.

Yeah - - you do have to use an blank partition,
if you wish to have any encrypted partition.
as you can't apply that to an existing partition, that easily.

that used to be an User Trick, that you could use within the Installer setup,
where ted was already used, but you could utilise Ted instead.

it was also handy, where an dual_boot scenario was being used,
and you could use the same name on both systems, within an shared home directory.
