Re: Any Way To Recover From This Live Persistance Failure?
That worked great. Thanks so much for helping me with recovering my work! After booting with persistence working again, I verified that all my work was still intact (history of my commands and the modified make files are extremely valuable), I first used snapshot and saved it to the hard disk--just ...

Re: Any Way To Recover From This Live Persistance Failure?
Try to add boot live parameter overlay.index=0 which may help to get booted, as inodes number may be exhausted with the overlayfs filesystem of rootfs. If so, consider to make a remaster, to get your changes back into linuxfs. Thanks, fehlix! Where to I add the parameter? Must it be added somewhere...

Any Way To Recover From This Live Persistance Failure?
I needed to do difficult build of a ham radio program (pat-gensio) and the installation and/or builds of different kernels and dependencies as well as libc6 was required. This is heavy duty stuff and rather risky to my daily driver laptop so I took a snapshot of my MX system and used a live USB stic...

Re: Touchpad Scrolling Annoyingly Grabs Focus of Inactive Windows
Thanks, platsch! I used the tweak way back when I setup MX-17 and, now that I've installed MX-21, I could not figure out where I'd previously found it.

Touchpad Scrolling Annoyingly Grabs Focus of Inactive Windows
I have Two-Finger Scrolling enabled in the latest MX-21 XFCE. If I scroll with the touchpad (drag my fingers across the pad) it will grab focus of an inactive window. Like single-finger tap to select or hover to select, I find this behavior to be most unwelcome. I would prefer to have to click the l...

Re: Workspace issues
I just tried on a test machine, and unchecking the setting in Settings>Window Manager Tweaks>Workspaces stops the scroll wheel from switching workspaces for me. Chris I'm very thankful for your post, Chris, because mouse scroll wheel workspace switching was driving me nuts and I spent at least an h...

Re: MX-17/18: No Internet via Wifi but Connects to AP/Router HTTP Server Okay
You could always try a newer kernel for MX 18, though I don't know why you don't go for MX 21 or at least 19. Wi-fi problems after suspend can often by resolved by unloading and reloading the driver, too. The problem occurs after every reboot and cold boot now but much more rarely after ...

Re: MX-17/18: No Internet via Wifi but Connects to AP/Router HTTP Server Okay
Thanks for your reply, rwda. The bug persists. Failures to connect occur occasionally after a cold boot now too. This thread? https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?p=553402&hilit=slow+wifi+resolv#p553402 The contents of /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/head say: # Dynamic resolv.conf(5) file for ...

Re: MX-17/18: No Internet via Wifi but Connects to AP/Router HTTP Server Okay
I've not really solved this problem yet and I don't know what is causing it. I had it happen again today after suspending the computer. After releasing the IP address with sudo dhclient -v -r and then unchecking "Enable Wi-Fi and then checking the box back on again with the NetworkManager Apple...

P.S.
I did try resetting iptables to default setting before I tried the above. It didn't make any difference.
