Re: PyPar2

I would not encourage you to "roll the dice and find out" whether the forDebian9 package is suitable for use in debian10. Post #7 in this topic provides step-by-step howto grab the source code and self-compile on your native system. No coding skills necessary, and the process takes probabl...

Re: Best practices for tmpfs

FYI, you could "preserve the SSD" entirely, by booting from liveUSB and choosing dynamic persistence ~~ allowing the persistent data to reside on the liveUSB. If you have installed the O/S to disk, choosing (via firefox preferences) a tmpfs -resident parent directory for the browser's disk...

re " tried to build python-vte a few months ago for another package but " On antiX 19, I had previously built the debian stretch source package for vte_0.28.2 (which generates the libvte-common, libvte9, python-vte , and libvte-doc packages) Tonight, I rechecked, using MX-19_November_x64.i...

Re: Should the MX User Manual be replace by living docs ??

Speaking of people rushing in to help out with documentation. We can use help with the help system in the legacy live-usb bootloader. ("Press F1 for help"). Both here and at antixforum.com, within the betatesting topics I had posted to suggest F1 helptext revisions and additions. Those po...

At last, please, do not consider Devuan as an alternative solution which will survive any outcome of this vote. Jaromil? In his own words, devuan was intended as (part of) a social experiment. His commitment regarding its permanence was never promised. https://i.vgy.me/FsCFQW.png https://i.vgy.me/Y...
