Re: TUI File managers

thomasl wrote: Sat Sep 30, 2023 1:43 pm @Buck Fankers There's also this:

The AppImage won't run here but the portable tar unpacks and works OOTB (though I'm also under MX23 so YMMV).
Will try it out, thank you.

Edit, it is working in TTY mode, thanks again

Re: TUI File managers

As a matter of routine, i just checked the 'bookworm-backports', and couldn't believe my eyes  Theres a New Kid on the Block arriving ... FAR for Linux (far2l) You are probably on MX23. On my MX21 I don't have this option. I tried to follow these steps: https://github.com/elfmz/far2l I ...

I had no clue, that install would bring in flatpak stuff, which I have none on my computer. Appreciate the info, thank you.

Re: Please advise me about backup [Solved]

I looked into Snapshot, Timeshift, luckyBackup, and FreeFileSync. All three works great on MX. I have no experience with LuckyBackup. Timeshift more for system backup, while FreeFileSync more for data. And MX Snapshot is jewel on top of it :-) Not so much for data backup, but for making copy of you...

Re: Please advise me about backup [Solved]

Have you considered Kopia as the data (not system) backup tool? I was out of curiosity going to give it a try as well, but got stuck at first command: curl -s https://kopia.io/signing-key | sudo gpg --dearmor -o /etc/apt/keyrings/kopia-keyring.gpg I only use MXPI so I will first ask before I do som...
