Re: fluxgui

I came across a tiny program in synaptic called sct (26.6 Kb). It's command line, but simple. You just type sct, then set a value, and it removes a percentage of blue light. A value between 2000 - 3000 seems pretty good for nightime. I'm very impressed with it :)

Re: Firefox and Cookie Handling

Just a thought, but you might consider installing uMatrix and use it to allow cookies on the sites you want. As for speed, I just loaded this page with uMatrix enabled = 1 second Reloaded with uMatrix disabled = 1 second So no discernable speed hit having it installed. It might even quicken your ove...

Re: Waterfox and getting Firefox legacy addons back [Solved]

I'm new at getting Waterfox to work on MX - had FEBE 10 in backup folder but it freezes all the time. Find it hard to get extensions i want via Waterfox site. What version of FEBE works best for present MX Waterfox? You could try this --> https://github.com/JustOff/ca-archive Download the .zip and ...

Re: Celluloid, formerly known as Gnome MPV

For what it's worth, I installed the amd64 .deb from here > https://packages.debian.org/bullseye/amd64/gnome-mpv/download It installed ok with Gdebi with all dependencies met. It's running without any signs of problems so far. Eek. Hopefully this does not become a problem later on on your MX18 inst...

Re: MX 17/18 Repository: The Featherpad Thread

Featherpad installed without problems and seems to run perfectly. The right-click spell-check is a welcome addition. Thank you Stevo.

Re: Why do you use Nvidia's drivers instead of Nouveau?

The only area where I've found Nvida drivers to be superior to Nouveau is with Google Earth. I use GE for some quite detailed prehistoric data mapping projects and find that it performs and renders better with Nvidia drivers installed for my Nvidia GPU. However, as I prefer to use the Nouveau driver...

Re: Mozilla has Been Nominated for the “Internet Villain” Award in the UK

Did you know that the UK is officially categorised as a surveillance state along with countries such as China? The real villian here is the voyeuristically obsessed establishment, and more specifically, the uselessness personified in a certain figure, who, when she was the Home Office Minister, devi...

Re: Mozilla Hardening And Enhancement Guide

app.update.lastUpdateTime.experiments-update-timer ...set to 0 [default is 1550012645] The value represents an event timestamp. Zero just serves to spoof "ain't never been updated yet". Zero or otherwise, the value conceivably could serve as a fingerprinting trait... but that would provid...

Re: Mozilla Hardening And Enhancement Guide

... with using uBlock Origin and uMatrix together in advanced mode... Are you saying you use uBlock Origin in advanced mode? If yes then why use uMatrix at all? I believe together they offer an advantage over using either as a standalone. If I could only use one, however, then it would have to be u...
