MEPIS 12 to MX15 64 bit amd
Am considering updating my MEPIS 12.0 amd64-bit operating system to MX-15-64_KDE_added-18Apr2016.iso (or amd binary version if it exists). I did some research and discovered both OS's use an ext4 filesystem. So I ought be able to simply overwrite my existing MEPIS12 ext4 partition. Is there an insta...

Re: Unofficial MX 15-64 KDE snapshot
Well, yes, I found the MX-Linux manual. Thanks for the hyptertext link. Yes, the icon is very small. Thanks, arjaybe. The maybe I'll get lucky on the third try may have misled me. The first two times I tried to boot from the MX15 Live-DVD, it failed. The third time worked great. I fiddled around wit...

Re: Unofficial MX 15-64 KDE snapshot
Thank you. Got Xfce booted from the live DVD on my 3rd try. So it runs on my 64-bit AMD CPU. Xfce looks great. No sound, though. Logged out to the username/password dialog box down by the river. Didn't see the KDE plasma option. Am I looking in the wrong place? Or does it have to be installed to the...

Re: Unofficial MX 15-64 KDE snapshot
Is MX15-x64_KDE_added-18Apr2016.iso a "live medium", so I can try it booting off DVD-R before installing ?

Re: Restore okular viewport settings ?
I got the checkbox to "show menu bar", or words to that effect, by right mouse-clicking the portion of the viewport where the document is usually displayed. Phew. Back to being able to access the menu.

Restore okular viewport settings ?
This morning I was viewing a pdf document in okular. I wanted to delete the leftmost vertical panel with icons to provide more viewport width for the document. I wasn't sure what the vertical panel with icons was called. So I began a process of elimination, toggling the visibility under settings. Th...

Thank you, Danum. That worked splendidly.
