Re: How to activate F12 key to eject CD/DVD ROM?

Well the first question in my mind is whether the standard command works. Can you open a terminal and enter

Code: Select all

eject
and see if the tray opens?

If it does, then I imagine you can (re)map F12 to that command somewhere in the KDE Settings stuff, I no longer remember where.

mx-packageinstaller

We are doing final testing of this new MX application, and would like to get the translations (only 98 words!) up to speed:

Re: MX apps missing?

I wrote the online documentation for the new MX apps so it could be linked and reviewed. You will not find them in your local collection /urs/local/share/doc/ until the online collection is packaged up and sent as an upgrade to the repos.

Re: GRUB, bootloader, and other things I don't understand we

I finally decided this document was not ever going to work well, so decided to remove it, moving the Configuration and Repair sections elsewhere.

Thanks for the help, though.

Re: MX website = http://www.mepiscommunity.org/mx14

At Peregrine's suggestion, the MX website has now been changed to highlight the terrific video tutorials people are making by adding a moving image of what is available in the left pane and reducing the screenshots to a single clickable image to the whole collection.

Check it out!

Re: Video Tutorials now available!

Peregrine has both now up on the website--great work, people!

BTW: when you run out of ideas, an "Installing and configuring Skype" one might be useful--we seem to get many questions about that and the config part is not intuitive when multiple sound/video options are present.

Re: GRUB, bootloader, and other things I don't understand we

Please now take a look at the document again. Because it would take a fair amount of time to change the name of the Doc throughout the document set (all navigation and links would have to be changed), I have left the existing title and waved my hands a bit in the opening sentence to get around the ...

Re: Having issues printing from browsers in MX-14

Thank you for that offer, but it could be a problem if you aren't planning on shipping or invoicing from PayPal. How it works is you send the customer an invoice and then after they pay, you can input the package weight and dimensions and print the shipping label to put on the box. I don't know how...
