Re: HDD bad sectors or inodees, etc appearing.
I told you how to repair the disk in post #3. If you're still getting more bad sectors and inodes after that it means the disk is failing and should be replaced.

Request: WoeUSB
WoeUSB creates bootable Windows installation USB sticks either from an installation DVD or an image. It's still in the MX-19 test repo and I've used it on those occasions where I find the need to put Windows on a computer as a dual-boot machine. Now I want to get a laptop repaired, put a different S...

Re: Intel or AMD for Compatibility?
Linux in general has excellent support for all AMD GPUs using the open-source amdgpu driver found in all modern (and not so modern) kernels. It's Nvidia GPUs that can have issues. Generally both AMD and Intel ones just work. It's not currently usable due to a keyboard problem but I have a Lenovo Ide...

Re: HDD bad sectors appearing.
Thanks for the QSI.
Boot from your MX Live USB, run System/GParted in the main menu, select the disk that you installed MX onto, then click Partition and select Check, then click the Apply icon. GParted will check the file system for errors and repair any that it finds.

Re: Bad RAM
Follow-up: I finally got around to changing the RAM last week, and also installing a PCI-E USB 3.0 card that I'd bought months ago to add 5 more USB ports. The card works fine and I've had no more decryption issues when I type my pass phrase (as long as I don't mistype it.) The new RAM tested OK in ...

Re: How do I put MX_Linux onto my Lenovo ThinkPad (E15 Gen 3) ?
Hello again, fellow MX_Linux friends, I am now the proud owner of a Lenovo ThinkPad (E15 Gen 3) which, unfortunately, comes with Windows. First order of business is to do a clean install of MX_Linux. I have already downloaded: MX-21.2_ahs_x64 What do I need to do to get this on my USB? Read section...
