arrrrgh ima pirate, shakin me bootie
In retrospect, I regret placing that earleir post. My LOL reaction to reading that quoted bit stemmed from being too pedantic, too literal, and a few fries short of a happymeal. (BTW, no one has noticed (and cared to edit) the missssspelled "review" in the topic title here???) ~~ didn't in...

Re: Snap/Snappy... Flatpak & the future?

Re: Snap/Snappy... Flatpak & the future?
What do you think Snap/Snappy [..] means to 'other' distros like ours? That's a broad question, and the topic is more suitable for discussion within a distro-agnostic venue. You'll find plenty of well-reasoned (and no-so-well reasoned, but passionate) commentary here: https://old.reddit.com/r/linux...

Re: Snap/Snappy... Flatpak & the future?
ManyRoads, although I've read "no, technically, flatpak does not require systemd" I've repeatedly worried that debian's implementation might, or soon will. Hey, can check easily enough. I did so just now, from an antiX17 system. Launch synaptic, click mark-for-installation flatpak, apply.....

Re: Canonical Extends Ubuntu Support
https://www.appimagehub.com/ AppImages are self-contained apps which can simply be downloaded & run on any Linux distribution. For easy integration, download AppImageLauncher Really, the words container and AppImage don't belong together in a one-sentence description. We can accurately say an a...

Whoa. Shelf the reactionary fanboism. As for cockroaches, howabout try 'em lightly toasted with butter and oregano. Please read the OP question at face value rather than inferring "suggestion" or innuendo. The OP is active across several linux sites, same username. Check out his posts &...

Re: MX and Devuan?
@manyroads One of my hats is "kriv", I've been a longtime prolific maintainer at without-systemd.org Because the battlecry of Devuan initially had been "preserving init system choice", it's been distressing to note their heavyhanded removal of choice and the hypocrisy apparent wi...
