Re: "stable" Chrome may segfault i386 Debian stable - e.g. M
Thanks, D.O. I did a complete removal, which I guess is why the repo file was also removed. I was able to find the backup copy and restored the repo. BTW, the google-chrome-unstable package also crashes with a seg fault. Could this problem be a conflict between chrome and some other process running ...

Re: "stable" Chrome may segfault i386 Debian stable - e.g. M
google chrome stable is not in the repos. chromium is. when you install google-chrome, it adds a google repo to the sources. Do you know the name of the google repo?? It's not in any of my current repo lists. An update came through Synaptic this morning, so it must've been there earlier. Does unins...

Re: "stable" Chrome may segfault i386 Debian stable - e.g. M
You are correct. The updated Google Chrome does not start on my MX-14 installation either, throwing up a segmentation fault. I've removed it from my system pending a fix from Google. EDIT: Another oddity: Several minutes after uninstalling google-chrome-stable, I can no longer find that package in S...

Re: MX is slow after lqast update
By "last update" are you referring to the Intel graphics driver package? Also, could you be more specific as to which /usr/bin/x... process is chewing up CPU and how much?

Re: Green Comet
I tried that with places.sqlite (50MB!) but ended up with incomplete bookmarks somehow. So I tried importing a known good bookmarks.html, which usually works for me, but it didn't work right this time. So I had to take the more extreme route. I'm sure I lost some recent bookmarks, but I'll recover....

Re: Green Comet
I wasn't able to find anything in about:config, so I copied everything over from my M11 /mozilla/firefox/alphabet.default directory. I'm seeing the [img]es now. Over time my Firefox profile folder gets crufty and full of glitches, so I must periodically replace it with a spare profile folder kept i...

Re: MX-14.2 downloads

Re: Strange Problem with Power Management
I guess with a desktop, you don't have the function keys to adjust display brightness, so it would be more of an issue. Maybe you could try to create a key combo that would mimic a laptops function keys to achieve the same task? No, there are no keyboard functions that control display brightness. E...

Strange Problem with Power Management
Once in a while when the planets are in a certain alignment, the Power Management feature will decide to dim my display after a time delay. Checking Settings > Power Management shows the Dim Display feature is turned "off" (unticked). But once this dimming behavior starts, the only way to ...

SM Tube/SM Player
I don't know if this is a problem specific to KDE/MX-14, but I thought I'd post it here because that's what my system is based on using. Anyway, there's an intermittent problem playing a random video on SMTube with SMPlayer selected as the default video player. Sometimes a message flashes at the bot...
