Re: Gnome - how do I add a program to the menu?
I used sudo nautilus and copied the tor file into the /usr/share/applications
There is a cross over the icon and it cannot be launched from there, and it doesn't appear in the menus.
When you say "make a new desktop file", what exactly do I need to do? Cheers

Gnome - how do I add a program to the menu? SOLVED
I've installed TOR, and the only way I can run it is to open the browser from the file location. btw I downloaded tor directly from it's website, as install from synaptic didn't work for me. I've had a good look online and can't find a way to add TOR to the menu. With the dash, you can usually add a...

Re: Suggestions for Future Versions
1. I installed MX onto my laptop which has W7 on it. The installer sorted it all out for me no problem, dual booting works great. 2. I cannot get the live USB to boot on my desktop uefi w8 system. Even with secure boot off, or with legacy OS selected, in won't boot. On the other hand, my "snaps...

When you don't update often....
Our W8 family PC is now very slow. It's hardly used so I may as well install MX17 and see if the machine can become enjoyable .... Question is....if it remains little used.....will the system get ruined if an update is not done for weeks and weeks? In other words, to keep the system running OK, how ...

Re: grub bug at boot time: no symbol table
It's a bit strange. Having googled it, this is something that was reported across numerous distro during 2016. Dunno why I have it now!

Re: Adding other DE's to MX17
usually performance shouldn't be hit just be installing another DE. they don't run simultaneously. you might want to check the autostart settings to make sure multiple instances of something is running at launch (I don't know what that would be, so consider this a general thing). Cheers. It's good ...
