Re: AVL-MXE (MX-19.2) on AMD: USB 2 (or 3) ports don't work (depending on IOMMU setting)
Try a low latency kernel in AVL-MXE. I use and recommend Liquorix, current version is 5.12.0-9.2-liquorix-amd64

Re: Consider recommended packages as dependencies [Solved]
Please no. Installing "recommended packages" by default is just lazy. It's not lazy and we've had this conversation before probably in one of several "I can't get redshift working" threads. The only real downside is a few extra MB of disk space taken and I fully understand antiX...

Re: Consider recommended packages as dependencies [Solved]
Debian installs recommends by default, MX doesn't. There are some reasons. Sometimes a package needs those recommends or some functions or features may not be available. As in your example with apt, it is easy to install recommends as a one-off with the command: apt install --install-recommends <pac...

Re: Is it safe to install Yabridge on AVL MXE?
An important point is that wine-staging ≥v6.3 has been problematic for media production, particularly for audio plugins. IIRC Glen has pinned v6.2 in AVL-MXE. Yes that is unfortunately true.. In the microcosm of running Audio Plugins Wine has gone from being as predictable as the sunrise to complet...

Re: Installing later versions of WINE questions...
pax-eterna posts concerning AVL-MXE should be in the Respins section of the forum https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewforum.php?f=127 and have AVL-MXE in the topic title as certain specific things may be different from vanilla MX. WINE is one of those things. While the latest MX version may be fine for m...

Re: Installing later versions of WINE questions...
Presumably you're asking about AVL-MXE considering your posts at Linux Musicians forum. Glen has locked the WINE version as currently later versions have serious problems so don't change it. I'm currently using winehq-stable 6.0.0 on Debian and it runs everything I've tried so far. IIRC AVL-MXE has ...

Re: Possible To Set Default 'Special Window Settings' in KDE? [Solved]
Hope you read this : https://docs.kde.org/trunk5/en/kde-workspace/kcontrol/windowspecific/windowspecific.pdf In window rules, guess you can put * in match case and make a desired rule... my unconfirmed guess. That doc is for Plasma 5.8 but probably much still applies. Plasma is now 5.14 in MX and B...

Re: Qt gtk theming dropped from Bullseye(?) but works with latest Qt
In Plasma 5.20, GTK style is integrated in overall application style, thus no separate settings. If you choose eg. Breeze Dark, GTK applications will have Breeze Dark style. Much betterer!
