Re: How important is a live bootsplash or lack thereof?

I like the scrolling text, makes the machine look like it is doing something during start up. You can add what ever pretty picture that you want but, it will take up space for the CD. Then there is always someone that will not like it and say something about it(remember the upside down jelly fish?)....

Re: minimums

What is the least you can get away with to run mX14? cpu? Ram? Hard drive space? MX14 has been set for use on mid size, to newer machines. AntiX likes the older machines as well as the newer ones. I do not think anyone knowns what the limits really are. Load it up and see, maybe it will or will not...

Re: Further Tweaks to Get MX-14/KDE Going

Kudos to developers like Warren who always put together nice, well-integrated KDE desktops, because it takes a lot of time and effort to get everything right. No kidding, huh?! Producing MX-14 took zillions of little tweaks that were always invisible to me in the past, and I wrote to Warren at one ...

Re: Device Notifier Bug Fixed

Here, KDE 4.13.0 running and 10 USB thumb drives to use, can not reenact the blooper. A quick peek at /usr/share/kde4/apps/solid/actions/test-predicate-openwindow.desktop, shows Exec=kioclient exec %f, still there. This may be a PITA, just maybe a check mark is set wrong in, "System Setting > F...

Re: BrotherPrinterInstall alias

At this stop point;

Will you specify the Device URI? [Y/n] ->

Y = Network printer address.

n = local USB printer. :popcorn:

Re: AntiX MX-14 RC2 : antix2usb --> work ?

Anti I would love to post the log however, get a catch 22 once live usb launches, can not copy & paste anything to anywhere.
Not in the file manager or screen copy or the clip board. they start but, will not finish the task. Will play with later when
I some more time.

Re: AntiX MX-14 RC2 : antix2usb --> work ?

When using antix2usb, if it fails (let's not go into why for the moment), user will have to reformat the stick, making sure it is bootable and REBOOT their OS and try again. Nice, have one usb 8 gig and one usb 16 gig. Both have been reformatted, ex2, ex3 and fat 32, before booting the live CD. Ref...

Re: Live USB failing on Mac OS 10.9

Then let's start with the 64 bit Apple, the one with the lock up and disk spin. Been using this one all day working on getting a booting thumb drive. It does not have a boot loader on it, so have to use the "C" or "option" keys to boot the live DVD, but mostly used the "opti...

Re: Live USB failing on Mac OS 10.9

Well, just tried this little tid bit with unetbootin, ISO installed thumb drive and all it did was lock up with the DVD just spinning away. What worked and what didn't? Were you able to boot the LiveDVD without "from=usb"? YES the DVD boots without "from=usb". Be back, have some...
