Re: Is this FrankenDebian? [Solved]

I see that your machine doesn't have hardware that uses any of the rtl88xx??-dkms packages so those can just be purged. So thats why computer cant see and connect to wi-fi, now I understand. I will purge wrong drivers You should update the broadcom-sta-dkms package because that one is used by your ...

Re: Wi-Fi card down? [Solved]

Sometimes the culprit is just the Network Manager itself While situation on this laptop is the same, Wi-Fi only works with USB dongle, I LOVE your suggestion. You put all together for someone who dont have internet acces, to DL all necesarry from another computer and then replace network manager wi...

Re: Wi-Fi card down? [Solved]

Shortly, everything's ready: The 1st and 2nd commands will first download all the deb files (just KBs) of both NM and ConnMan in 2 folders (this is not a must, just you'll be at ease (the moment NM is removed there'll be no connection even with the dongle, just in case you'd like to revert back...)...

Re: Wi-Fi card down? [Solved]

Sometimes the culprit is just the Network Manager itself (maybe that version). Maybe you'd like to try ConnMan alternatively (I've been using that happily for years, also lighter). In case you say yes, these (first 1-2 steps) will create folders and download the deb files (for both) and they'll be ...

Here's a how to video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fradalGF6lc Thanks, good to know about general problems with this card. I'm in special situation, replacing will not be possible, no time for it. I got...

Re: Wi-Fi card down? [Solved]

The weird part is, when I inserted USB Wi-Fi dongle, I got two options, to connect to wifi, through broadcom and through USB Wi-Fi dongle. I choo...
