Re: rdrand bad, so can't run mx-snapshot tool

Oops, sorry guys, the rdrand problem is separate. That dev/tty was I think because I needed to start the tool as root from the terminal. It is running now.

rdrand bad, so can't run mx-snapshot tool

If I run the tool from the menue, nothing appears. From the terminal, I get these errors. I know when I boot I see rdrand is smelly, but I thought enough entropy was accumulated. Should I wait for entropy to increase, or is there something I can do? $ mx-snapshot WARNING: CPU random generator seem t...

Re: search files by file size

I second what CharlesV wrote.

fsearch is great, more powerful than the default xfce catfish search tool.

It is very fast.

Re: Request MX23 - fsearch

Yup, that is my experience MadMax.

I think fsearch is great, better than the catfish search....more powerful, more flexible, and very fast.

Re: Request MX23 - fsearch

Stevo,

Your package works.

I un-installed fsearch completely with synaptic.
Closed synaptic, and used your linked .zip. When decompressing I had the option of installing an amd-64 version, which worked with no errors.

Thanks.

Re: Request MX23 - fsearch

Stevo,

Yes, synaptic shows libcanberra-gtk-module 0.3-10 is installed.

So, why wouldn't it be loading?

Re: How to auto suspend? [Solved]

go to the MX logo button at the bottom left (I assume you are using xfce desktop) and type power in the search box, power manager will pop up as the first entry.
Under the system and display you can configure the time outs for each, or set them to not time out and sleep.

MX23 -great software support !

I am really enjoying the new MX23 install. The software availability and tools is just wonderful. 1. Was clued in during the beta and RC testing by someone about the UIP (User Installed Programs) in MX tools. After everything is installed, use the tool to grab your additions, save that file. When re...
