Re: Oh, no! Not the dreaded black/blank screen thing!!! Noooooo!!!!

Can't help you further, you'll need the more knowledgeable people to wake up in their timezone. But I strongly suspect that XWayland is a big part of your problem. From web research, XWayland is supposed to be Wayland's compatibility layer for apps that are still only compatible with the X display s...

Re: Oh, no! Not the dreaded black/blank screen thing!!! Noooooo!!!!

There is mention of XWayland in your QSI. I don't think xfce 4.18 is ready for Wayland yet. I compared your QSI with a few other MX23 xfce QSI posts (I'm not booted into MX at the moment). Theirs don't have Xwayland. Maybe installing your bits of Gnome and KDE plasma pulled in wayland booting, or pe...

Re: I was trying to install the package "libfreetype6_2.13.2" (in my VM) [Solved]

Question 1: no, because you are trying to fit a MX19 package (I'm assuming version 2.10 is the MX19 version) into MX23. Those removed packages in MX23 depend on a newer version of libfreetype. That's how they were built. Dependencies in Linux systems are all interconnected. Question 2: because libfr...

Re: Plasma shell randomly crashes right after I login

Have you tested disabling all non-default plasmoids, and then logging in? I once experienced a recurrent crash because my Event Calendar got outdated when the rest of the system rolled. After I removed it, everything was fine. With that settled I then made sure to install an updated version from KDE...

Re: How to add GhostBSD to MX Linux Grub boot loader [Solved]

Perhaps Ghost is controlling grub on the machine? It's a uefi boot machine? I notice a vfat partition.

Best to post your Quick System Info in this thread.

Re: Problems after removing a kernel

rawthey /etc/default/grub contains the "rules" or settings you wish your grub.cfg to follow. That is what MX Boot Options edits. When you update grub, those settings (plus the scripts in etc/grub.d/ ) are followed, and the grub.cfg menu is generated accordingly. When the grub package is u...

Re: MX Wallpapers Submission (by Freja)

@Freja

same for me, I follow this thread even if I don't respond much in it.

Once a specific point release is already out, we are not going to change default wallpaper (or any defaults) on it halfway through.

Re: Source of Lake Sunset wallpaper?

We try to have member-created wallpapers for the majority of the collection. IIRC, in MX23, the only 3rd party free-to-use wallpaper in the collection was the library shelf of books (connection with release name Libretto). And even there, CharlesV did contribute some of his own pictures of books on ...

Re: Symbols in MXPI

But shouldn't then this simlink have the name "package-installed-updated*" ? The symlinking will be done within the icon theme, assuming the developer of the theme knew about it (or intended to have it). For old themes, they may not be using the up to date freedesktop [I think that's what...
