MX live usb not booting.
Have just aquired an HP Probook 650 G2 and, as is my usual pratice, want to format/partition the hdd from my most recent snapshot of MX-19.4 from live usb. Unfortunately on this occassion it will only boot to the grub prompt. Is this any thing to do with UEFI Bios (set to Legacy Enabled and Secure B...

Re: grub updates breaks boot [Solved]
I'll add my "MeToo" experience (also on Xmas day - sad!). Decided to update MX-19.4 on two laptops. Both have bog-standard Bios and HDD telemetry. The Lenovo went sort of smoothly except for the Grub bit at the end. Was presented with 2 dialogues neither of which seemed appropriate to my n...

Re: Migrate Thiunderbird Profile from Win to MX
Thanks for reply and link which does seem more complete than others.

Installing BlueMail (and snap).
Preamble For a couple of years I've struggled with trying to set up TB satisfactorily on any pc/platform let alone multiple ones! Historically, Outlook Express has served my simple purposes but googlemail has now pulled the rug. A year ago, I had TB working ok on a couple xp installs but they were a...

Migrate Thiunderbird Profile from Win to MX
I have been trying for years to set up TB as my default email client across machines but, of course, want copy my history too. So up to now I have relied quite happily on Outlook Express in Win XP (and hitherto Win 98!). I was successful on a couple of machines with the last version of TB to support...

Re: Partition Table Corruption
It doesn't matter right now as I've zapped it all and started again (with minimal config of XP and 7 at this time) and will now try MX using a newly created and fully updated usb.... EDIT All(?) good now but will need to install EasyBCD and add entry for MX before I can test that. Assuming that's OK...

Re: Partition Table Corruption
It would usually be via the BCD but, of course, I hadn't got that far!

Partition Table Corruption
After 12+ years using my most convenient Toshiba Satellite L170 (with various h/w failures on route) it reached eol after complete power failure and exhaustive efforts at resuscitation. I searched for a cheap replacement and chose a Lenovo T420 because their site conveniently offer all the Win drive...
