Re: Remove Lvm2 partition?

Thanks. I think it's resolved - https://superuser.com/questions/917988/ ... -partition

1: Right click (on partition) > Deactivate.

2: Device > Create Partition Table

Job done1

BTW This is MX16 (modified) and Lvm2 does appear in the gparted drop-down list.

Remove Lvm2 partition?

This is a very specific question from saga chronicled at https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=47203. Having finally managed to boot MX16 snapshot from CD (not USB yet!) and launchart gparted to examine the hdd to discover that, as suspected, it is formatted with an unfamilier (to me) file s...

Re: Deja Boo

And if it doesn't have an optical drive (which it does)? But yes, I just came across PloP last night - yet, ironically, it needs to be burned to cd! DVD would (should!) provide an interim way forward but I'm still determined to understand - and overcome - whatever the common factor is in these confl...

Re: Deja Boo

BTW Whilst searching for a mobo I couldn't resist bidding for a Gigabyte complete with Intel cpu, 4Gb ram and hdd which became mine for £22. All it needs now is a case+psu.... Got a case for the above and put it all together. Seems to work but... It has Xubuntu pre-installed. It took several attemp...

A couple of glitches following update

Following https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?f=108&t=48870 there have been a couple of related error messages. After the download and install E: /var/cache/apt/archives/compiz-plugins_2%3a0.8.14-0mx15+1_amd64.deb: trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/compiz/libwall.so', which is also in package compiz...

Re: Videomate S350 DVB-S install

Thanks. Finally traced where I discussed this in PCLos forums 6 years ago https://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,123110.msg1028351.html#msg1028351. There my OP refers to your link. As I suggested, it's to do with the card number which in this case is 169 so, assuming similar syntax and file...

Thanks. That seems to have de-constipated it. Currently downloading nearly 600Mb of updates!

Videomate S350 DVB-S install [Solved]

Sometime ago, I had this working - possibly in Mepis 8/11 and/or MX but certainly in linux (and windows). Unfortunately cannot refer back to the exact procedures. The chipset is usually identified as Philips Semiconductors Saa7133. System Profiler identifies it as Saa7131/7133/7135. But according to...

Me and GPGs! [Sorted]

Returning to a machine that hadn't been used for some time and having had to install a replacement mobo (see Chat!), i'm taking the opportunity to bring MX16 up to date. However, when I try to reload Synaptic PM several GPG arise. W: GPG error: http://nl.mxrepo.com jessie InRelease: The following si...
